Being raised in France, I had never attended a bridal shower before. It wasn’t a part of our culture, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I received an invitation to my friend’s daughter’s bridal shower. Little did I know that it would turn out to be such a delightful and unforgettable experience.
For those like me, who are not familiar with a bridal shower, it is a gift-giving party held for a bride-to-be in anticipation of her wedding. However, the history of this custom reveals that its purpose was not only to provide goods for the matrimonial home but also to offer financial assistance to ensure the wedding could take place.
Nowadays, it seems that the bridal shower has evolved into an opportunity to pamper the bride and add some spice to her marriage đ From sexy underwear to romantic experiences with her future husband, the gift options are endless. I must admit that even though I was quite uncomfortable at first with the naughty side of the gifting – it is my friend’s daughter after all – I actually really enjoyed shopping and putting a gift ‘basket’ together for the future bride, and the handcuffs turned out to be the biggest hit!
But beyond the gifts, what touched me the most was witnessing Jenna (the Bride), this amazing, kind, and loving person, sharing her love story and wedding plans with the people she holds dear. Seeing her excitement and knowing that she has found that perfect love filled my heart with warmth and fulfillment. Jenna is a gem, and I couldn’t be happier for her. May her journey into marriage be filled with love, adventure, happiness, and countless beautiful memories with Daniel, her future husband.
